Favourite Thing Friday – The Giveaway Edition….

     **  This giveaway is now closed… **

    Welcome to Friday people!
    – gotta love Fridays right?
Especially when one’s husband has a half day and will be home soon – Yeah that!

Well, since it’s the Quilting Bloggers Blog Hop Party Giveaway day starting today (sheesh what a mouthful – try saying that with a mouth full of marshmallows! 😉 ) I thought I’d combine my Favourite thing Friday with my celebration giveaway today…

    Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

So today, my favourite thing is….

    Yep, blogging indeed!
And December marks a year since I started blogging seriously. Can you believe it’s only been a year?

I can’t really believe it’s only been a year to be honest!
    – So much has happened in that year and I have developed so much. I feel like I’ve known a few of you much longer than that too.
I mean, technically I started blogging earlier than a year ago, but really I only dabbled half heartedly for the first while. It really wasn’t until December that I found my voice, (the time) and the passion to start keeping my online “Diary” seriously.

It is really hard to explain how much blogging has changed my life!
For starters, without the blog world I would not be 1% of the crafter I am. I pretty much learnt to sew 100% from blogs! And I do not know where I would be if I didn’t craft/sew a little every day.
It really does help keep me sane while I bring up my two darlings! I mean, I love them dearly and could not imagine life without them, but this full-time mothering gig does have it’s moments and it’s very useful to have a healthy outlet during those moments ya know… 😉

Secondly it has helped me get connected with some truly wonderful and inspirational people!
You all know who you are, I don’t need to name you all. Despite the fact that we’ve never me I consider many of my “bloggy friends” among the closest and most supportive that I have, & definitely among the most inspirational!

So to celebrate blogging, and since this is predominately a quilting/sewing blog after all, today for the Quilter’s blog hop I am giving away…
    Wait for it…
A charm pack of the yet to be released “Walk in the Woods” range, the latest by Aneela Hoey.

Yes that’s right, get this super cute fabric before everybody else does. Ok well maybe not everybody else – because obviously if I have some then other people do too, but you know what I mean 😉

    Entry is simple:
First entry: simply leave me a comment. (You can proclaim your love for me if you really must, but it’s not a prerequisite 😉 )

But this time there are also some bonus entries up for grabs:

Second entry: my “Support Crew” can all have a second entry, just cause I heart you so much.
(I’m really sorry but you must follow me through Google friend connect to qualify for this second entry, not just subscribe through a reader, otherwise how will I tell you are a regular reader?)

Third Entry: if you have previously left me a comment on ANY post that I’ve written since the 1st December then you can have another bonus entry. Because that means that I love you super heaps 😉

Fourth Entry: Blog about this giveaway and you can have a fourth bonus entry.

    So good luck!
I will draw this when the giveaway blog hop closes on the 17th December.
Which is also my Dad’s birthday just in case you were interested – hey, maybe I should make him enter so that he can win it for his birthday and then gift it back to me; would that be cheating?
    Hmmm…. yes, probably cheating!

Also linking up with Shay’s Favourite Things Friday
(one of those aforementioned Bloggy friends. Even if she is mean and doesn’t share her Haigh’s chocolate LOL)

Oh and I also just organised my giveaway for Monday for the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway day, and what can I say but it’s a great one! Hee heee – I can’t wait! I love to give cool stuff!

    1. I only found you fairly recently (and thank goodness I did, although I wish it had been sooner!), so I didn’t realize you’ve only been blogging for a year. I completely agree with all your reasons for blogging – sometimes it’s that, the crafting, & friends I’ve made that are the only things that keep me sane!

    2. Well, what can I say? I love you super lots & am inspired by your beautiful work all the time!! Quilty friends are just the best! Even if they live on the other side of the world!;)

    3. Hey Kat! My first time to your blog. Making my via Favorite Things Friday. Couldn’t agree with your favorite thing more ~ I have “met” some amazing people, learned new techniques, and also count people I have never met among my closest friends.

How cool is that? Anyway, pleased to make your acquaintance.

    4. First off -I’m very glad you started to blog because I’ve enjoyed getting to know you this year. And a year of dedicated blogging is certainly something to celebrate. Go you!(especially when you’re running your own business, doing it often by yourself , and have two small children Wonder Woman)

Secondly I don’t share my Haighs with anyone. Not even Mr. P!

    5. I’m not sure if I am a follower in the way you say, so if I am not you can delete this LOL… When I subscribe to email posts, that is when I really want to read the blog… I wouldn’t even know where to go to find the blogs I “follow” LOL

    6. I totally agree with you about how giving so many are at helping you learn new sewing and quilting techniques online. That’s how I’ve been learning myself or should I say re-learning some of those things. Happy 1st anniversary.

I think I might be the only one with none of Aneela’s fabrics at all. Walk in the Woods looks super cute.
      Thank you for the chance.

    7. Yep, I am one of your support crew so here’s my 2nd comment.

Sadly, I’m not as ‘supportive’ as I should be evidentially. I just checked back to find that while I did read all your posts since Dec 1, I haven’t commented. 🙁 I remember seeing that awesome craft room you have and the little drawer for your daughter AND thinking how lucky you were to have what appears to be a MamaCJT origiinal. I’m totally jealous of that! BUT, no 3rd post from me since I was bad and only read but didn’t comment. 🙁

    8. Great giveaway!!!

one of the great things about reading and writing blogs is the chance to escape into the adult world for a few minutes at a time which still staying home with the kids. It keeps me sane!

    9. Proclamations of undying love you say… hmm, I’m a bit overtired and emotional since last night’s Christmas party down south, I’ll have to get back to you with something appropriate ;o)

    10. What a gorgeous giveaway! I love anything by Aneela Hoey. Thanks for the chance and congrats on one year of blogging!

    11. thanks for hosting a lovely giveaway…im making a quilt for my daughter ballet group with Aneela’s fabrics (so girly!!) so this charm pack would be a great additon to that quilt!! thanks for a chacne.

    12. I have put a link on my blog to your giveaway. Thank you for the chance! I totally love this fabric. I just got my quilt that I made from Sherbert Pips back from the quilter today. Love her fabrics!

    13. Oh but I do HEART you so much! Yours is on my short list of blogs to read & not skip, meaning even when I’m behind, I read all the old ones (even if I don’t comment on them all).

    14. I am so with you…the quilting blogging community is amazing and I have learnt so mcuh from blogs as well. Have enjoyed looking around your blog.

    15. I’m a new follower and I signed up via GFC. I’m reading on other blogs that GFC is going away though ?? Thanks for your giveaway.

    16. I know what you mean about blogging and crafting being a sanity keeper, I work full time and have a toddler 🙂

      I love the charm pack!

    17. I love the Walk in the Woods fabric by Moda– it is SOOO cute! I’ve been admiring it ever since I first saw it online! Thank you for this chance to win some charms!!! 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and your family!

    18. happy one year blogversary. isn’t it amazing what we accomplish just by talking about things in common. i will be following you to see what you have to say and keep up to date

    19. Isn’t it fun? I’ve just started trying to blog in earnest, and I’m still not the most regular at it, but I find myself thinking about what I want to blog and wondering if anyone will like what I’m making (other than me and the quilt recipient)! I do feel like I’m making friends around the world, and it’s just so cool! Plus it has helped me accomplish more in the sewing room! I hope I have as great a support crew a year from now as you have now! 🙂

    20. Lovely new paack you are offering to the giveaway! I enjoyed looking at your tips on piecing. I have not done more than squares and reactangles, so it it interesting to see you learnt so much from following blogs!

    21. Happy birthday to your dad! Thanks for participating in the blog hop and for your generous gift. Who doesn’t like charm packs…they are charming.

    22. I’m lusting after this fabric line hard. It’s just way too cute.
I’m an international entry, so I’m not sure if I can enter. I just had to try, you know?
