This is officially your first warning…
If you have any preconceived ideas about me warning off spooky stalker types in this post, then I’m very sorry to disappoint, but my life is not that exciting and I don’t have any of those… (Well – not that I’m aware of anyway). (And Phew to that!).
… My Dad used to call me a “nosey parker” or a “sticky beak” when I was growing up… Apparently (according to him anyway) the interest that I have in what’s going on in other peoples lives makes me a sticky beak.
My version of the story is that I like people & I care about them & what is going on in their lives. End of story.
But you can choose which version you’d like to believe 😉 LOL…
Anyway – I’ve had this idea on the back burner for a little while, and I thought it was about time I told you about it and got the ball rolling.
You may remember one of the many things on my list of things that I want to learn is run a linky party. So let me introduce you to my first proposed linky party….

That’s an Australian Rainbow Lorikeet – pretty hey… |
Now I don’t know about you – but I love to get to know my bloggy friends better. I now have bloggy friends from all over the world and it’s SOOOOO facinating finding out things about them.
For example:
Two interesting facts I found out about friends recently – one of my bloggy friends lives permanently in a mobile home and another lives in Amish country.
Ooooh interesting right?!
So who were they?
Well I guess you’ll have to find out if those are things they reveal about themselves in this linky party won’t you! 😉
So – how cool would it be for us to all do a feature on where we live to help us get to know about each others locations & cultures better?!
This is how I am imagining it would work:
** over the next week I would generate a master list of questions for us to all answer about where we live (like general stuff about the towns/cities we live – not stuff where any spooky stalker people could find us etc…) and put them all in another post next week
** then we will all have a month to prepare the post. You know – cause we’ll need plenty of time to round up photos of all our favourite places & foods (and fabric shops 😉 ) etc… etc… and write it…
** Then we will all link up in a linky party on the 17th November.
(Which I will neither confirm nor deny is a special date to me – not that I’m black mailing you to help make the day special to me or anything 😉 )
and peruse each others blogs getting to know each other better.
What do you think, – who’s in?
And if you are in, then feel free to leave nosey-parker question suggestions in your comment…
(And PS I also was thinking that I’d do another one-off one in December or January for how we each spend Christmas in different parts of the world)
I love your idea!!! I am as nosie as you!!! lol
I love the idea too! I LOVE linky parties! How about a question about your sewing ‘area’? I have seen some amazing sewing rooms but I’m not so lucky! I think it gives you a new appreciation of one’s achievements when we see the conditions some work in!
I am totally in love it so much!!!
Love the idea, I’m in.
Such a cute idea!
I’m in. Ask away. What irrelevent questions should be want to know outside of the obvious? What flavour of ice cream is in your freezer right now? Thread catcher or floor? Best cookie/biscuit where you are from? Longest WIP?
Any of the above?
Here I thought you were talking about “Flossieblossoms” cat. His name is Nosey Parker and she talks about him all the time. Sounds good for your linky party though……I’m in!
This sounds like fun. I hope my very limited technical/computer skills won’t hold me back!
Sounds like a lot of fun. And, November 17th is definitely a special day for me, too. It’s my son’s and my granpa’s birthday. They are “only” 77 years apart. Neat, ha?
This is totally up my alley! My neighbors all know about me…since I’m outside nearly all day with my kids, I can tell you how long the lawn maintenance man worked on your yard, if the electric company left an overdue notice in your door, and the day/time my neighbor gets driven to the hair shop to get her hair done weekly:) Now, this is a true story:
About a month ago I was out in the street when I heard a loud pop on the roof of a nearby house. I looked up, and a boy rounded the corner of the roof, ran across the front porch roof, and literally jumped and rolled on the ground. I guess he wasn’t cleaning out the gutters. At this point, the mom and daughter came out onto the porch arguing and the girl ran to her car and started pulling away. I noticed the boy had on a shirt, boxers, and tube socks–only. He ran across the yard and jumped in the passenger. The mom yelled “I’m calling the police” and the girl yelled back “go ahead Mom.” Wonder what was going on…
I’m in Miss Nosey. Totally interested in what others have to say, but am shy when chatting about myself. 16 Nov will be torture for me writing, but I can’t wait to have a good read on the 17th!!!
Hahaha! My dear husband called me nosey the other night. I told him I’m just interested in people and things.
I’d love to join the party.
Oooh, that sounds like lots of fun. I love to stalk *ahem* learn about other people :oD
Fun, FUn, FUN!!!! I am definitely IN on this one. 😀
Let me think, what sort of nosey parker questions….mmmmm…..
Are you a first generation quilter/crafter?
Fave dog breed?
Best cat color?
Favorite animal in the wild?
Do you belong to a quilt/craft guild?
Do you work outside of home? If so, what kind of work?
Ok, OK, that’s enough now! lol
P.S.
On November 17th, my Dad will be….. NINETY-FOUR and a HALF!!!
Fun! I’m definitely in!
My mother used to say to me “curiosity killed the cat” when I would pester her with questions – but the cat’s still here and still curious. I LOVE your idea. Count me in.
I’m in! And I’d like to know people’s favorite sewing sites, books, or tips (or, more nosey, sewing “habits”)….
Nosey too – count me in!
Questions? First sewing memory, first thing you made that you were proud of (at the time), greatest sewing challenge, a naughty but nice food item, dig out a piece of fabric with a story…
I’m a nosey parker too so, please, count me in.
I would love to see other people’s sewing rooms/spaces – preferably not tidied up.
Oooh, and another question I would ask – do you always stick to the “rules” when it comes to patchwork and quilting?
Hi Kat! Great idea! It would be so nice to be able to locate our friends better. I’m not very nosey parker; don’t know much about people except my nearest friends. Still I love to know where and how people live and it would be great to get to know our blog friends better!
xxx Teje
sounds fun!
this should be interesting! I’m not on the blog bandwagon. but did you know I live in amish country as well? or maybe that who’s you were referring too?:) not sure if you knew that or not.:)
I like it! How about sharing what the main industry of the area is/used to be.
