WIP Wednesday…

Well despite my best efforts I haven’t really much sewing on my WIPs in the last couple of weeks. Strike that actually, what am I on about?! – I haven’t made any effort at all, let alone a best one!! Lol…

What can I say really except that life has been busy!
So there is not a lot of change, but I will none the less show you the change that there has been…

1. The Cheeky Quilt…
Despite the fact that I myself have done no more sewing towards this, it really is coming along nicely. I have received 3 beautiful blocks towards it this week and {“virtually”} seen and heard of numerous more on their way to me (EXCITING much!). I will only show you the 3 I’ve recieved this week, but with any luck next fortnight I’ll have a bunch more to show.

Block 1 came from Anne, all the way from Scotland…

Anne is a subscriber and volunteered to make this for me after my cheeky request post.  I particularly love that in Anne’s card she wrote down for me what all the fabrics meant and why she chose them. E.g. tartan because she’s Scottish, buttons because she loves to sew etc.. etc… How special! I love it thank you so much Anne!!
Anne also has some very bright, creative and colourful eye candy on her blog, so take a little look-see.

Blocks 2 & 3 came from Mona, all the way from Germany…

Mona is in my Bits & Pieces bee that I have just finished up with. I think I showed you her pictures of her blocks before, but I’m sorry you have to admire them again because otherwise I will have nothing to show you 🙂 Thank you so much Mona these are great. And oh so funny! Especially as those women kind of have the same body shape as me – go the curves! Lol…

2. Scrappy Wonky House Blocks,  3. Quilt for my lounge… & 4. Improv squares…
No progress on any of these again. I did actually open my drawer and longingly stroke all my pretty fabric for my lounge quilt this afternoon if that counts as progress. Hmmm… ok maybe that doesn’t count…
I’ve finally decided what to do with the random improv squares though. I will make a quilt top for the Blankets of Love bee that I’ve just started. You can read more about it here if you missed it the first time and would like to help.
So this week’s sewing WIP stats are:
New projects – 0
Completed projects – 0
Currently in progress –  4
Currently waiting to be started – still endless!!!

I do feel great tonight though regardless of the lack of sewing progress…

Mainly because I have just spent the last 2 days working on designing some more wall art. – A job that I should have done 6 months ago!! How’s that for conquering some procrastination and a WIP ticked off – woot woot. I’ll post pics of some of that progress tomorrow.

I also finished the installation & removal tutorials, so I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself. Now I just need to cut some (and price them ICK!) before the women’s conference at church on Saturday so that I can sell some of them.
I will also aim to get them up on my website. Hopefully that won’t take me another 6 months!!
So yeah, probably not any more sewing planned for this week. But as I have a market planned for next weekend prepare to be inundated again soon!

Hope on over to Lee’s for more Works in Progress.

  1. What fun blocks! I hope mine holds its own with these. ;^)

Good job, getting on those wall art designs. So, just because you didn’t SEW anything, doesn’t mean you didn’t DO anything, right? 😀

  2. I’m so glad you like the block, Kat. I had fun making it for you. 🙂

I hope it’s okay that I’ve grabbed the photo as I forgot to take one before I sent it off to you. I’ll load it into my own Photobucket so I won’t be stealing your bandwidth.

  3. Love the slogan. I could use some calm!

I can’t wait until you get my blocks for your quilt. I was looking at the book Modern Log Cabin Quilts and I saw a block in there that looks like one I sent you. I will have to send you a pic. It’s kind of neat how alike they are.
