Ever since I got an amazing deal on this beautiful Robert Kaufman print (I love it can you tell – I’ve been using it a lot recently!) I have been waiting for some free time to make my girls a cute outfit each for summer. Yesterday was the day! I present you my version of a little girls twirly skirt…
Weee heee I’m so SO pleased with how these turned out!
It’s my first attempt at sewing an outfit properly for my girls. I didn’t use a pattern, and instead just made it simple for myself. Although since I don’t have an overlocker I did have to make french seams to make it all nice an tidy inside.
It.looks.so.cool! I made a set for Abbie last night too but haven’t had a chance to take photos of her in it yet. I’m almost tempted to make one for me too – although I promise you I would not be so sad to dress the 3 of us in them at once lol…
I took photos to make a tute because these are too easy & effective and come together in less than an hour. I even finished Abbie’s top within the hour too. So when I have some more time I’ll write that up.
Off to “work” with Hannah in my office since Abbie’s asleep. She is desperate for me to come and sew while she “works” drawing at the desk. Oh ok – twist my arm if you will Hannah
While she does that I better figure out what I’m doing for my October Sew Aussie blocks. Eeek it just dawned on me that it’s my month in 1 week and I have to not only decide what I want to do but send fabric for the first time too. I’m kind of freaking out about what to do – I’m so indecisive about things for myself!!
I have a few ideas but will happily take any suggestions!!
Have a lovely weekend!
Gorgeous! Cute outfit, too!
Gorgeous little outfit!
Gorgeous! I love making little skirts but I don’t have many girls to sew for.
What a lovely photo of Hannah in a gorgeous outift. You are right to be proud.
Well done! It’s a beautiful outfit! Lovely print.
Hi! I’m sitting here with my ‘Hannah’ and just adore that sweet skirt and lovely blouse!
Have a wonderful weekend!

The outfit is adorable, and so is your little model! Love the fabrics and colors.
That is so cute! Love the fabric, too. Great job!
The skirt looks fabulous! I am definitely interested in trying the tutorial. I am getting my tea ready to go sew with my assistant (Esther) as well, while everyone is still sleeping this morning:)
Both the skirt and your daughter are completely edible. Gorgeous!
Utterly adorable. That skirt is so cute.
I wish I had a little girl round here so I had an excuse to make one.
Great job Kat(and no pattern you say ? Sounds like my kind of project!)
Very cute. I made myself a skirt out of Riley Blake’s Love Birds. Just saying… ;o)
Hannah’s skirt and top are adorable! And sew easy you say? I bet both girls look fabulous dressed in their same outfits
Absolutely adorable! French seams rock, go you!
Is that Betty Dear fabric? I love it; where did you buy it from? x
Wow! French seams and all – nice job Kat!!! 😀
