Woah what a busy couple of days!! We moved house over the weekend…
…Well ok, actually my brother moved house (out of ours & in with our other brother who lives closer to his work) & then we just moved ours around. But it feels like we moved house lol…
I’m sad to see Malcolm go because it’s been lovely having him live with us, but on the plus side him moving out it freed up our 3rd bedroom & gave us what feels like A LOT more space… and after reshuffling about 3 rooms around, our house feels like a totally new house!! Soooo spacious & much MUCH less cluttered & squashed…
So after 2 days moving & building new furniture & more moving this is the results…Firstly we moved my workspace out of the lounge & into the 3rd bedroom (**close your eyes now if you don’t want to make yourself jealous of my new creative space!!)

I cannot tell you how excited & privileged I feel to have this awesome dedicated space for my craft!! Now I better make good use of it hey… something tells me that shouldn’t be too difficult though! I can start by making some stuff to put some personality onto all those white walls!!
Once we moved all my crap stuff out of the lounge we had a LOT more space in there! We decided that it would be perfect as a toy nook, so we moved all of the girls toys out of their bedroom & into the nook in our living room which my workspace took up…

Waaaaay more floor space! & Waaaaay more space for the girls to play!! |
Lastly we moved around the girls room….
For the longest time we have needed some storage for the girls’ bedroom! They don’t have a built in wardrobe so up until now I’ve been just using a free standing hanger to hang Hannah’s clothes. Abbie’s clothes storage has been plastic containers slid under her cot. Both a nightmare to keep tidy! (Let alone making it all look like a student flat). Now that we had moved all the toys out of their room it freed up space to put in some decent furniture.
I spent the last 3 weeks trolling the internet for some nice antique wooden wardrobes that I could paint white. But after hours not finding anything good value which would suit me I was left wondering why I was desiring to make more work for myself painting furniture anyway (hmmm!!) and we decided to visit Ikea… Hello great idea!!
This is the newly refurbished girls bedroom….

So that’s what I’ve been up to. It’s finally starting to feel like our permanent home & a little less like temporary living quarters. We don’t know ourselves now having SOOOO much more floor & wall space. I think I’ll be rattling round a bit once Neil heads away next week sometime
… but I think I’ll have plenty to do making pretty things to decorate all those newly bare walls though! I can feel some mini quilts, buntings & vinyl wall art on the agenda!!
Oh happy days
Happy days indeed!! It’s looking fab Kat and I can’t wait to see it in the flesh
Happy crafting friend.

You are right – I am jealous!! But thrilled for you to have your own dedicated working space. And the house looks great. Enjoy the new roomier home.
OOOh nice work on creating a great space…looks like plenty of space to share some of those skills you have. x
Great space! I miss having a seperate cutting space so I can spread out. I have my fabric on those exact same shelves!
Yay for the sewing space … all kinds of happy … xx
Oh fine, after looking at your nice & tidy new studio, my house is feeling even MORE cluttered! LOL
The girls’ room looks so cute – I love that little purple chest of drawers! So fun!!
And what a great place for a toy nook too. I do wonder what the original designer thought would go in that space? A reading nook?
Good job – all your hard work shows. 😀
Wow! That looks great! You’ve been busy.
Kat, What have you ‘wound’ you fabric onto in your stash ? Looking to redo my creative space and my fabric is currently stored in a plastic tub – but it’s hard to get to and you can’t see it…..
