This morning while Abbie caught up on sleep (and after I’d caught up on washing since the sun is shining & I had no excuses left!) Hannah & I tried out our new creative space. It worked a charm having enough desk space for us to both work without falling over each other!
Not knowing how much time we’d have I decided to work on my July block for Sew & Bee-Happy…
Gwen requested a crazy log cabin in either green, yellow or brown. My green scrap stash is abundant (thanks to my queen bed quilt) so it wasn’t difficult for me to decide which colourway to choose!

Couldn’t resist adding those kiwifruit in since I’m a kiwi girl and this is going to the States… |
I had so much fun making this!… I think I may be making a few more of them in the future because I just love wonky scrappy blocks!
Funnily enough it was also a really good block for getting exercise while I worked – cut, sew, iron… cut, sew, iron… cut, sew, iron… – when each of these stations is now on a different side of the room it does get you moving a bit for an otherwise quite sedentary hobby!
And Hannah found a really good use for my offcuts…
It was so nice to feel like we can enjoy the space together (and that she’s now not in my way when we do!).
I also tidied my fabric & reminded myself why I do NOT need to buy anymore (she says knowing how unlikely it is that she will resist next time she sees some yummy fabric on sale!)
More creative spaces over here…
your fabric stash looks a lot like mine since i store mine on shelves too. it’s so nice to have everything looking nice when you need it!
Cute block Kat! Is it just me, or does that owl look a bit cranky? LOL Maybe because he can’t reach those lovely kiwis…. 😀
Very precious having a little person to craft with.
LOVE the touch of kiwiana! And the way you are able to share your creative time with Hannah
