** Today I put on my constructive mummy hat and did some baking with Hannah while Abbie napped…
** We baked New Zealand cookies – some in the shape of the country, and some kiwis. Plus some hearts and flowers thrown in for good measure…
** It worked a charm and kept us busy for a good hour…
** They got a bit “crisp” – but since they are not for masterchef I’m pretty sure we can be forgiven – they still taste good…
** Afterwards I had Hannah “help” me with the dishes…
** Which translates to – Hannah stood in front of the sink playing with water and getting us both wet while I did the dishes around her lol…
** I did not mind one bit because it kept her so occupied that she did not have time to whinge at me, and I had time to put the washing away and hang another load out after I had cleaned up, while she continued happily playing in the sink…
** Day 1 without Neil went ok… 1 down – too many to count to go – boo hiss!!
** Abbie is getting worryingly close to walking
** She is only yet capable of walking holding my hands – but seems determined to let go and make a run for it…
** It leaves me wondering what am I in for once she is capable!!
** I still can’t believe that she is doing all this but is not yet 8 months!! – Hannah was still 2 months away from crawling at this age let alone close to walking!
** Abbie is a good eater…
** So great in fact that in the last few weeks I have caught her eating all number of goodies if I turn my back for 2 seconds – stickers, slaters, dog biscuits, Hannah’s dropped crumbs, sand… Yummo!
** I really want to sew or make something tonight…
** I really need to start sewing or making stuff for my business tonight…
** I can’t decide what – so I am procrastinating and doing this instead…
** I am in a bit of a creative slump…
** Creativity – where are you? – please come back!!
** I am wondering what you do to get back on the creative wagon?…
** I just ate half a bag of lollies
** Now I have a sore tummy from eating too much sugar…
** you would think that I would learn!! LOL…
** That is about all…
The kiwi biscuits are so cute!! The dishes sound like fun. 8 months is very early to be walking!!! She’ll be running soon! I hate it when you eat a bag of lollies and get a sore tummy, they just taste so good.
Oh no! Now I want some biscuits! Should eat dinner first, I suppose.
When I get in a creative slump, I try a few things – one, do something different. Use crayons, or paints or anything you don’t usually play with…and PLAY! The other thing, is to make something for someone else, even if it’s something little, like a card.
Whatever you decide, try not to stress about. Sometimes we need to recharge! 😀
I love your cookies cutters, where can I invest in a set?
I LOVE those cookie cutters too! I have a huge selection but never seen a kiwi shaped one in Canada or the UK. I wonder why?
Walking early is a mixed blessing. Helen walked confidently at nine months and before she was a year she was like a mountain goat. She figured out how to get over barriers, how to climb onto the settee, then the arm and then the back and then up to the windowsill.
But you will find that once Abbie is up and about your two girls will start moving into the ‘sisters’ stage and then you get the pay off. They play together and therefore entertain each other. If they have a good bond then it all gets easier in many ways because they have each other to depend on as well as you.
There is nothing better than being in a different room and listening to your children giggling uncontrollably together.
