New Christmas books…

I should have really done this post a while ago – but what can I say… I’ve been a little bit distracted by a few other things…

For Christmas I was very blessed to get some new books to add to my stash of books…

Firstly was a book from my Mother-in-law. She wanted to buy me something to help me along with my sewing so I picked this book and some pinking shears. Thanks Jane!!

This book is an AWESOME reference tool – one I think every sewer would benefit from having in their reference stash. I can certainly see it getting some use in this house. Not only does it have SOOOOO many skills and techniques to try, but it is so CLEAR – with step by step photo instructions: (I can’t be doing with these handdrawn illustrations that most books seem to have and leave so much detail to guess)…

    I highly recommend it!!

The second book is one from my husband (he just didn’t know that he was giving it 😉 )…

I bought this one on a whim (when we were choosing the other book). It is a bit of fun and includes many cool softies to sew for the kids. I haven’t tried one to see how I go following one of the patterns yet (not tradionally great at patterns!) but lots of inspirational eye-candy none the less.

    Some of my favourite picks:

Well this mumma is off to have a bath. This weekend has been a weekend of very little sleep thx to 2 little family members of mine, which makes for a tired, cranky mumma. Hopefully a nice bubble bath might revive.

I am especially sad to be missing church this morning, as we’ve had a few weeks off for the holidays. But 2 children getting colds and a cranky mumma did not make for getting ready on time this morning! So a day at home it is… Hopefully my go slow will have turned to at least a go medium by lunch time. We can but hope.
