My mum is staying from New Zealand at the moment (to visit our wee darlings rather than me of course ). While staying she has got back into knitting, since she rarely has time to do anything creative back home with her busy schedule. So this week she finished knitting some soft toys for my girls and has been asking me to take her to spotlight all week so she can buy a darning needle to sew them together. Well we finally got time to go this afternoon and boy was I PLEASED that we hadn’t got around to it all week. They were having a 1 day only clearance of fabric at half it’s usual clearance price – so loads of fabric for $1 & $2 per metre. Fabric I have been buying (even early this week) for a minimum of $12.95 per metre.
So BOY did I buy up large heheheh
Here is a selection of my favourites…
Since I don’t really have a stash as such I’m super excited to have so many to choose from for my next quilt and can’t wait to get designing!!
And here is a quilt top that I’m currently working on. It’s in a similar style to the first quilt I ever made, but is baby size instead of single bed size. The top came together so quickly but I have got stuck. In the top left corner there are a couple of boxes which I had planned to put applique in, but I can not seem to make anything look right. It’s been bugging me for about 4 nights…
Hopefully tonight it will come together – otherwise I will flag using my scraps for now and cut into my new fabric and see what I can do. I hate not getting things finished, so hopefully inspiration will strike really soon!!
